You get admission to Singapore's nocturnal animal park with a tram ride through six zones, the option to walk dedicated trails like Leopard Trail and Fishing Cat Trail, and access to the Creatures of the Night Show. Your timeslot is reserved and final, so book your preferred evening slot at least one day in advance and bring photo ID.
You show up thinking you've got time to grab a drink before your 7:15pm slot, and suddenly you're in the queue with fifty other people, all of you squinting at your phone confirmations. The Night Safari doesn't mess around — it's the world's first of its kind, and the tram ride through six geographical zones starts moving whether you're settled or not. The whole thing runs until 11pm, so there's a window, but the reserved timeslot is locked in. You can't change it once you've booked, so that part matters.
The tram itself is the easy part. You sit, the driver narrates, and the habitat rolls past — over 1,000 nocturnal animals moving through landscapes that mimic their actual homes. Flying bats, giant flying squirrels, leopards behind glass at the observatory on Leopard Trail. But here's where it gets interesting: you can hop off. The Leopard Trail lets you walk right up to the aviaries, and if you want to go deeper, there's the Fishing Cat Trail and the Forest Giant Trail on foot. Some people skip the tram entirely and just walk, which means you see different animals depending on what you choose. The Outback section has wallabies in a walk-through habitat, and the Creatures of the Night Show — if you time it right — shows you what these animals actually do when they hunt and survive. There's also a Twilight Performance with tribal warriors doing fire stunts, though whether you catch that depends on how you move through the park.
Bring your passport or valid photo ID — they check it at the entrance, no exceptions. Wheelchairs work fine, strollers too, and if you're traveling with kids, they have to stay with an adult the whole time. The one thing to know: if you don't show up by your timeslot, that's it. No rescheduling, no refund. It's not a casual "come whenever" kind of ticket. You book at least a day ahead, you get your confirmation, and you show up when it says.
Your ticket includes admission to the Night Safari, access to the tram ride through all six geographical zones, entry to walking trails like Leopard Trail, Fishing Cat Trail, and Forest Giant Trail, and the option to watch the Creatures of the Night Show and Twilight Performance if time permits during your visit.
