The Chinatown Heritage Centre occupies three beautifully restored shophouses across three levels in the heart of Singapore's Chinatown neighbourhood. What sets it apart is that it's the only place in Singapore with meticulously recreated 1950s shophouse interiors. You're not looking at artifacts behind glass, but walking through rooms arranged as they were when families and businesses occupied them. The exhibits move through the lives of early Chinese settlers, their struggles, and the resilience that built this historic district.
Your ticket gives you access to the Centre's galleries, where immersive exhibits and narratives connect Chinatown's past with its present. You can use your own mobile device with a free audio guide available in English or Mandarin Chinese, letting you move through the spaces at your own pace. Plan for one to two hours to see the collections. Last admission is 7:15 PM. The Centre is fully wheelchair accessible, and public transportation options are nearby.
Each ticket admits one person and is valid only on the specified date. Children under 3 enter free. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Flash photography, food, and drinks are not permitted inside to protect the exhibits. Queues may form at entry, and re-entry is not allowed once you leave.
