The Experience

The tour starts with pickup from your hotel and a drive into Sintra's hills. Your guide walks you through the landscape and explains the region's history and architecture, but leaves you free to move through each site at your own pace: no herding, no timed groups. Midday brings an hour of free time in Sintra's historical center: time to rest, eat lunch and try regional pastries like the queijadas and travesseiros the town is known for. After that, the route continues through the National Park toward Cabo da Roca and finishes at the coastal town of Cascais, where the sheltered bay and villas along the shore reflect centuries as a holiday resort. The whole day runs eight hours from pickup to drop-off.
