The experience
The day starts with pickup from your hotel or the bus terminal in Nazca, then heads to the local airport. You'll board a light aircraft for a 30-minute flight over the Nazca Lines: the geometric figures and animal shapes etched into the desert floor nearly 2,000 years ago. From the air, you see the scale of what ground-level photos can't convey: trapezoids, triangles, spirals, and anthropomorphic figures spread across a vast expanse of the Nazca Desert, their edges still sharp after two millennia.
After landing, the tour moves to the Cantalloc Aqueducts, an underground irrigation network the Nazca people engineered to survive in one of Peru's driest regions. You walk through the system and learn how these canals still deliver water to local farms today. The surrounding landscape shows what that engineering made possible: cotton, corn, and potato fields that depend on the same water channels the ancients built. A guide explains the hydraulic problem the Nazca faced and the solution they invented.
Flight timing shifts with weather and air traffic. The aerodrome schedules departures in approved slots, and you may wait around 40 minutes before boarding. If weather grounds the flight, the operator refunds USD $70. The full tour runs about six hours from pickup to return. A certificate for completing the overflight is included.

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English and Spanish.
How long is the actual flight over the Nazca Lines?
The flight lasts approximately 30 minutes and covers the full expanse of geoglyphs across the Nazca Desert: the figures, trapezoids, and geometric shapes etched into the surface.
What exactly are the Cantalloc Aqueducts, and are they still in use?
The Cantalloc Aqueducts are underground canals built by the Nazca civilization around 300 AD to irrigate the desert. They are still used today by local farmers to water cotton, corn, and potato fields in the surrounding area.
When does the tour depart, and how long will I wait at the airport?
Pickup happens in the morning from your Nazca hotel or the bus terminal. The flight is scheduled in shifts approved by the aerodrome based on weather and air traffic, with an average wait of about 40 minutes before boarding.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my tour?
If bad weather prevents the flight, the operator refunds USD $70. The timing of the flight can also shift to adapt to the best conditions, so your departure time may change from the original booking.
Is the entrance fee to the Aqueducts included in the tour price?
The Aqueducts entrance ticket (10 soles) is paid separately at the site, just before boarding the flight. You'll pay it in person at that time.
