The experience

Thirty-five minutes is the window in which you see the Nazca Lines from the air. The route covers 13 geoglyphs: the Whale, Trapeze, Astronaut, Dog, Monkey, Hummingbird, Compass, Condor, Spider, Alcatraz, Papagallo, Tree and Hands. From the aircraft you look straight down at the lines etched into the desert floor, some hundreds of meters across, and the guide points out each one as you pass over it. The scale is the thing: ground-level photos cannot show what these figures actually are.

After landing, the tour moves to the Cantalloc Aqueducts, a network of underground channels built centuries ago to move water through the desert. You walk the site with the same guide, who explains how the system works and why it was built here. The aqueducts are still in use, and the engineering is visible in the stone spirals that bring water up from below ground.

Shared transfer picks you up from your Nazca hotel and takes you to the airfield. The vehicle is air-conditioned. A live guide in English or Spanish travels with the group. WiFi is available at the counter before departure.
