The experience
Four hours covers two sites that anchor Nazca's story. The Cantalloc Aqueducts sit just outside the city: a network of canals, wells and underground channels the Nazca built to move water through one of the driest deserts on the planet. The engineering is the point: these puquios (a Quechua word for spring or well) supplied farmland year-round and show how advanced the culture's hydraulic technology was. You get 15 minutes to walk and photograph the structures themselves.
The second stop is Cahuachi, 28 kilometers away on sloping terrain. The name means "place where the seers live," and the site is a citadel of adobe with ceremonial pyramids (the Great Pyramid, the Great Temple, the Stepped Temple and mounds) arranged to face the Nazca Lines themselves. Another 15 minutes lets you move through the structures and record what you see. The tour pairs these two sites so you understand both the practical engineering and the ceremonial life of the culture, and why they built where they did.
Your guide driver handles the route and speaks English or Spanish. Hotel pickup is included, and all entry fees are covered. The pace is built around observation: you're not rushed through either site, and the drive between them gives context for what you're seeing.
