Step-by-step itinerary

- Visit artisan winery
- Taste wines, piscos, and creams
The experience
The day starts with pickup from your hotel in Ica and a drive of about an hour to Hacienda La Caravedo. Once there, a guide walks you through the distillery's history and the origin of pisco itself: what the name means, why it emerged, and which grape varieties go into each style. You'll see the types used in the distillation process, then taste several finished varieties to understand how the grapes shape the final spirit.
After the distillery, you move to an artisan winery where the production methods shift entirely. Here you taste wines, additional piscos and cream liqueurs made from Peruvian pisco, all made using traditional techniques that define Ica's winemaking identity. The contrast between the two operations (one industrial-scale, one small-batch) shows how the region approaches the same raw materials in different ways.
Transport runs the whole day, a guide stays with you in English or Spanish, and every tasting is covered. The experience wraps by mid-afternoon, leaving time for the rest of your day in Ica.
