The experience
The course starts with theory: how to navigate the Amazon rivers and jungle, how to find and filter water, how to identify which plants and fruits are safe to eat. Then you move into the field to practice. You'll learn to build a shelter from what's around you, make fire with jungle materials, set traps and snares, and prepare a meal from what you've found. The training also covers first aid, making weapons and gear, and how to help other survivors in an emergency.
You sleep in campsites throughout the 12 days and eat very little provisioned food. The point is to source most of it yourself from the jungle and river as part of learning to survive there. This is not a guided tour with meals arranged. It's hands-on training where you do the work. By the end you'll understand how to live in the rainforest rather than just pass through it.
The final days cover behavior and respect when interacting with local and indigenous people, and the golden rules of survival before you return to the city. A live guide in English or Spanish leads the whole course, and hotel or lodge pickup is included at the start.

Is this one for you? This course is hands-on and physically demanding. You do the survival work yourself rather than watch it demonstrated, and you eat what you catch or find. It suits someone who wants to learn practical jungle skills over two weeks and is fit enough to work in the rainforest every day with minimal comfort.
