The Experience
Day one takes you through Lahore Fort, where you'll see the Armour Museum, Mughal Art Gallery, Mirror Palace and Moti Mosque. From there, the route moves to Hazuri Garden, laid out by Sikh ruler Maharaja Ranjit Singh in 1818, and the Light Gate—one of the twelve gates of the old city. The Badshahi Mosque, built in 1673–74 by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, stands next: a red sandstone structure that anchors the skyline and the day. You'll also visit the tomb of Allama Iqbal, Pakistan's national poet, buried near the mosque's stairs, and Lahore Museum, which holds the Fasting Buddha statue and artifacts spanning Gandhara, Jainism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Islam. A stop at a local bazaar near MM Alam Road closes the first day.
Day two focuses on the Walled City and its royal tombs. Shalimar Gardens, built under Shah Jahan in 1634, spreads across three terraces with over 400 fountains and a waterfall. You'll walk through the Wazir Khan Mosque, also from Shah Jahan's reign, known for its fresco and tile mosaic work. The tour includes the tombs of Jahangir, Noor Jahan (Jahangir's wife) and Asif Jah, whose daughter Mumtaz Mahal is buried in the Taj Mahal in India. The day ends at the Wagah Border, where you watch the flag ceremony between Pakistan Rangers and Indian BSF—a ritual unique to this crossing.
Transport is in an air-conditioned car, van or coach with a driver; all sightseeing tickets and entry fees are included. Your guide speaks English, Hindi, Punjabi or Urdu and shapes the pace to your interests. Hotel pickup is arranged before the tour begins. The itinerary allows flexibility, so stops can be adjusted based on your preferences and energy.
