The experience

The walk starts at Delhi Gate, one of the original gateways into the old city, and moves through centuries-old streets toward the Shahi Hammam, a 17th-century Mughal royal bathhouse where the guide explains its heating system and cultural role. From there you pass through Gali Surjan Singh, a narrow street lined with old havelis and carved wooden balconies, before reaching the Wazir Khan Mosque, famous for its intricate frescoes, tile work and calligraphy. The guide shares the history and artistic detail of each site as you move through them.

The tour then takes you to the Badshahi Mosque, built in the 17th century by Emperor Aurangzeb and one of the largest Mughal-era mosques in the world. You walk through the prayer grounds, see the marble inlay work and carved arches, and get panoramic views of Lahore Fort from the mosque's elevated platform. Next is Lahore Fort itself, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you explore the Sheesh Mahal (Palace of Mirrors), the Naulakha Pavilion, royal courtyards and gateways. The guide walks you through the fort's history across the Mughal, Sikh and British periods, pointing out frescoes and marble work.

The tour ends at Lahore Food Street, the lively dining area between Badshahi Mosque and the fort. You have time to relax, take photos of the illuminated mosque, and try authentic Lahori dishes like barbecue and karahi. Private transportation is included throughout, and the guide handles all entrance fees.
