Mexican Cooking Class in Cabo San Lucas: Learn Four Dishes
Cook four Mexican dishes, pick ingredients from the garden, mix a cocktail
A three-hour cooking class in Cabo San Lucas where you learn to prepare four traditional Mexican dishes from a Master Chef, visit the restaurant's own garden to select fresh local ingredients, and mix an authentic cocktail. The class takes place in a private area of an exclusive restaurant, with groups kept small for hands-on instruction. Brunch and beverages are included; the guide speaks English and Spanish. Minimum age is 18.
The Experience
You start in the garden inside the restaurant, walking through the typical flora of Los Cabos to learn which ingredients make the best dishes. The Master Chef shows you how to choose what you need—tomatoes, avocado, epazote, pumpkin flower, oaxaca cheese, black beans—and explains why each one matters. Once you have selected everything, you move into the kitchen area to begin cooking.
Over the next few hours, you prepare four dishes step by step under the chef's instruction. One of them is a tlayuda de la huerta—a traditional flatbread layered with black beans, oaxaca cheese, mushroom, tomato, pumpkin flower, avocado and epazote. You also learn to mix a refreshing cocktail using the techniques and ingredients the chef teaches. The small group size means the chef can watch your technique and adjust as you work, not just demonstrate from the front.
You eat what you've cooked in an open dining area that overlooks the garden, so the meal feels like an extension of the cooking itself. Brunch and all beverages are included. By the end, you leave with recipes and techniques you can use at home to cook the same dishes for family and friends.
