Two hours that flip between adrenaline and stillness.

A two-hour activity in Cabo that pairs off-road ATV riding across desert and mountain terrain with horseback riding along the white sand beaches. You choose the ATV size and horse count at checkout—single, double, triple or quadruple—and a guide in English or Spanish leads both halves. The package includes van transportation, safety gear, water and a tequila tasting at the end; children from age 4 are welcome.

The Experience

The first hour is pure throttle. You ride an ATV across the same trails featured in the televised Baja 1000 races, moving through desert and mountain terrain at whatever pace suits your comfort level. Guides are trained for all experience levels, so whether you're cautious or aggressive with the gas, the route adjusts. The ride climbs toward views of the Pacific Ocean and ends at the white sand beach where the second half begins.

From there you switch to horseback. The horses are trained for beach work, and you ride the shoreline for the remainder of the activity. Depending on the season, you might see whales, sea turtles, dolphins or sea lions moving through the water. The pace is a sharp contrast to the ATV section—no engine noise, no dust, just the sound of hooves on sand and the ocean beside you.

When you finish, there's time to clean up, review photos from the ride and do a tequila tasting before heading back. Transportation is included in a Real Baja Tours van, along with safety equipment, purified water and the tasting itself. You pick your vehicle and horse count when you book—single ATV with one horse, double ATV with two, triple UTV with three, or quadruple UTV with four. Insurance is optional at checkout if you want it; private customization is available when you arrive.

What’s included

  • Van transportation from your pickup point.
  • ATV and horse for the full two hours.
  • safety equipment for the ride.
  • purified water throughout.
  • and a tequila tasting at the end.

Top questions

What's the Baja 1000 and why does it matter for this ride?

The Baja 1000 is a famous off-road race that runs across Baja California, and this activity uses the same desert and mountain trails you see on television during the race broadcast. You're riding the actual terrain, not a beginner loop.

Can I ride if I've never been on an ATV before?

Yes. The guides work with all experience levels and adjust the route and pace to match your comfort. You control your own speed, so you can go as fast or as cautiously as you want.

What happens if I'm not a confident rider on horses?

The horses are trained for beach work and the second half is a ride along the shoreline at a walk, not a gallop. The guide is with you the whole time and the pace is steady and calm after the ATV section.

Do I have to book the same number of ATVs and horses?

No. You choose your ATV size (single, double, triple or quadruple) and your horse count separately at checkout, so you can mix and match based on your group's preference.

What's included and what costs extra?

Van pickup, safety gear, water and the tequila tasting are all included. Insurance is optional for $30–$50 depending on your vehicle choice. Photo packages and private tour customization are available for purchase when you arrive.

When might I see whales or dolphins?

The operator notes that during season—typically winter months when gray whales migrate—you might spot whales, sea turtles, dolphins or sea lions in the water while you ride the beach. There's no guarantee, but it's possible depending on timing.
