The experience

The tour starts with hotel pickup and a drive to the boat launch. You'll spend the morning on the water exploring the mangrove forest that lines the Tanjung Rhu archipelago, stopping at Crocodile Cave and Bat Cave to see the wildlife that lives there. The route also passes Gorilla Mountain, Shoes Island and Monkey Island. A guide travels with you and narrates in English, Spanish, Italian, French or one of five other languages.

After the cave stops, you'll watch the eagle feeding and a fish show before heading to the floating restaurant for lunch. The meal is included, and you can pick between a special menu or simple menu when you book: that choice determines which private boat option you select. If you choose the shared boat instead, you'll travel with other visitors but follow the same itinerary and eat at the same restaurant.

The whole outing runs about four hours from pickup to drop-off. An air-conditioned vehicle brings you back to your hotel at the end.
