The experience
If you've got a free morning and your certification card, Dive For Fun Watersports runs two-tank dives straight from Montego Bay. You'll get picked up, geared up with full SCUBA equipment, and taken by boat to the reefs where the coral and marine life are thickest. The guide leads in English and stays with the group underwater, so you're not navigating alone.
The reefs here hold urchins, anemones, shrimp, black corals, lobster, sponge eels, barracuda, stingrays and nurse sharks, plus snappers, seahorses and octopus on the days they're around. Two tanks means you get time to move through the formations instead of rushing the bottom. Bottled water comes with the dive. Bring your own lunch if you want to eat after.
The operator guarantees the lowest price for this dive in Jamaica. You need at least a moderate level of fitness and a current certification card. Children from age 12 can join if they're certified. The dive isn't suitable for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health or pregnancy.
What’s included
