The day starts with pickup from your hotel in Montego Bay, Negril, Grand Palladium Resort or Falmouth, then a scenic drive through the mountainous region past farming villages. When you reach YS Falls in St. Elizabeth Parish, a tractor-led jitney carries you 10 minutes through the rainforest to the base of the waterfalls. The seven tiers drop into natural pools watched over by lifeguards, and you have free time to swim, explore the cascades, or swing on the Tarzan rope. A zipline canopy tour is available if you want to add that.
After YS Falls, you head to the Pelican Bar, a wooden structure built on stilts on a sandbar between Treasure Beach and Black River. A fishing boat takes you out (the ride is 15 to 20 minutes), and once there you can swim, sunbathe, order fresh fried fish and a drink, and watch the sunset if the weather holds. The bar started as a local fisherman's dream in 2001 and has become known for its isolation and the pelicans that rest on the sandbank. A reggae band plays, and the setting draws both locals and tourists looking for a quiet place to sit back with a cocktail.
Because this is a private tour, you travel only with your group and set the pace at both stops.
