The experience

The tour starts with a drive to YS Falls, where the water cascades down approximately 120 feet into the Y.S. River. You swim in the natural pool at the base, surrounded by rain forest. From there, you board a boat and travel up the Black River, Jamaica's longest river, where the guide points out endangered American crocodiles, exotic birds, and the plants that line the banks. The river itself is the draw here. Most of the wildlife sightings happen on the water.

The final stop is Floyd's Pelican Bar, a waterfront spot built for watching the sunset. You have time to order drinks and food (at your own cost) while the light changes over the water. The bar sits right on the water's edge, so the view is immediate and unobstructed. The whole sequence (falls, river, bar) is designed to move through three different landscapes in a single outing.

Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, along with an air-conditioned vehicle and a professional guide for the day. Travel time between the three sites adds roughly 4 to 5 hours to the activity itself, so plan for a full day away from your hotel. Children from age 3 can join. Infant seats are available if needed.
