The experience

The Black River Safari takes you three miles up the river and back on a guided boat, moving through one of Jamaica's best-known natural habitats. The river is the country's largest navigable waterway, and the safari is built around spotting crocodiles and other wildlife in their native setting. A live English-speaking guide leads the boat, pointing out what moves in the water and along the banks as you travel deeper into the river system.

After the safari, you move to YS Falls, a nature-based attraction surrounded by lush gardens and tall trees. The falls themselves drop into natural pools where you can swim. The site has been upgraded to include canopy rides that glide from the top of the falls to the bottom, so you get both the water and the aerial view of it. The combination of swimming, exploring the gardens and riding the canopy makes up the second half of the day.

Hotel pickup and drop-off from Montego Bay are included, along with all fees and taxes. The full tour runs eight hours. Bring your own food and drinks, or plan to purchase them on-site.
