The experience

The tractor-pulled jitney carries you across the resort grounds to YS Falls & Park, where the day's physical activity begins. You climb the falls with guide assistance, use the rope swings, and swim in different shallow sections, or simply rest under the trees if you prefer. Zip lining is available as an add-on. The pools and natural setting mean you can pace yourself. There's no rush to do everything at once.

From there, you board a pontoon boat on the Black River, Jamaica's longest navigable waterway. The cruise moves slowly enough to catch glimpses of native wildlife and local fishermen in their dugout canoes fishing for river shrimp. This is where the tour shifts from activity to observation. You sit back and watch the real Jamaica unfold along the banks.

The final stop is Floyd's Pelican Bar, a rustic wooden structure resting on stilts a quarter mile out to sea between Treasure Beach and Black River. A fishing boat takes you there. The bar began as one local fisherman's dream in 2001 and has become known for sunbathing, swimming, fresh fried fish, and reggae music. You can watch the sunset (weather permitting) and watch cliff divers from the water. Entry to Floyd's Pelican Bar is not included in the tour price, so budget separately for drinks and food.
