The Experience
The catamaran is already moving when you step aboard at Mahogany Beach in Ocho Rios. The crew runs through the safety briefing while the boat cuts toward the first stop—a coral reef about twenty minutes offshore. You're handed snorkel gear, and then you're in the water, warm and clear enough that you see the fish before you hit the surface. A guide points out the colors: parrotfish, sergeant majors, the occasional grouper hanging in the shade of the reef. It's the kind of snorkeling where you don't have to work for it; the marine life is just there, and you float above it.
After the reef, the boat heads to Dunn's River Falls & Park. This is where the day shifts from relaxed to physical. The waterfall is 900 feet of limestone terraces stacked like a giant staircase, and you climb it with an expert guide who knows which pools are safe to rest in and which rocks are slippery. Some people sprint it; others take their time in the natural pools between climbs. Aqua shoes are required—you can rent them or bring your own—and honestly, they matter on the wet stone. At the top, or if you decide the climb isn't for you, there's the base to explore, surrounded by rainforest that's thick enough to feel like you've stepped out of the Caribbean entirely.
The return journey is the party part. Back on the catamaran, the open bar opens (alcohol only after you've left the falls), and rum punch starts flowing. The crew turns up the island music, and people dance on the deck while the coast slides past. You get chicken and bread, bottled water, beer, soft drinks—the kind of fuel that tastes better when you're tired and the sun is still warm. By the time you're back at Mahogany Beach, you've done a full day: snorkeled, climbed a waterfall, and danced on the Caribbean.

No. You can stay at the base and explore the pools and surroundings if you prefer not to climb.
When does the open bar start?

Are aqua shoes really necessary?
Yes, they're required because the waterfall rocks are slippery. You can rent them at the park or bring your own.
What if I'm not a strong swimmer?
The snorkeling is in shallow reef areas, and you wear a life jacket. The guide stays with the group, and the boat crew monitors everyone in the water.
Is lunch included?
Yes—chicken and bread are provided, along with bottled water and soft drinks throughout the day.
How long is the whole tour?
The experience is roughly half a day, from boarding at Mahogany Beach through the return cruise.
