Step-by-step itinerary
Blue Hole, Reggae Hill, Dunn's River Falls
- Visit Blue Hole swimming and caves
- Relax and enjoy lunch at Reggae Hill
- Climb Dunn's River Falls with guide
The Experience
You start at Blue Hole, where the water is so clear you can see straight to the bottom. The limestone pools sit in the middle of jungle, and the first thing you do is jump in — there are mini waterfalls to climb, caves to poke around in, and the whole place is quiet except for the water and the birds. Your guide stays with you the whole time, pointing out where to swim and where the rocks get slippery. Most people spend an hour here, taking photos and cooling off before the next stop.
After Blue Hole, you head to Reggae Hill, a park along the White River where the real food and music happen. You get a beach chair, a cold drink in your hand, and reggae playing in the background — the staff does light entertainment while you're there, and the bartender makes the cocktail of the day, which changes depending on what they have in stock. The lunch is four courses of island-fusion tapas: jerk chicken, jerk sausage, festivals, plantains, and sides, plus three house cocktails and three non-alcoholic drinks included. You can wade into the river if you want, or just sit and watch the trees. This is the part where you actually relax, not rush.
The final stop is Dunn's River Falls, the famous limestone waterfall that everyone comes to Jamaica to climb. Your guide takes you up the terraces — there are natural pools at each level where you can slide in and cool down between climbs. If climbing isn't your thing, there's an observation deck where you can watch everyone else do it. Water shoes are required (you can buy them from your guide if you don't have them), and a certified lifeguard is on duty the whole time. The climb takes about an hour depending on how many people are there and how often you stop to swim.
Round-trip transport is included, so you don't have to arrange a rental car or figure out how to get between three different spots. Your certified tour guide stays with you from pickup until drop-off, which means you're not juggling maps or worrying about timing. The order of stops can shift depending on the day, but you'll hit all three no matter what. Just leave your valuables on the bus — this is an active day in the water, and you don't want to lose anything.
