You climb a 600-foot waterfall in the same morning you float down a river on bamboo.

A full-morning activity in Ocho Rios combining three water attractions: swimming and swinging at Blue Hole, bamboo rafting on the White River, and climbing the tiered cascade of Dunn's River Falls. All entry fees are included, along with hotel pickup and an English-speaking guide. The itinerary packs three separate sites into one outing, so you move between them rather than staying in one place.

Blue Hole, White River, Dunn's River Falls

  • Swim, swing, or climb at Blue Hole
  • Enjoy bamboo rafting on White River
  • Climb Dunn's River Falls

The experience

The day starts at Blue Hole, where you swim, dive, swing from a rope or simply watch. The choice is yours at each stop. From there you head to the White River for bamboo rafting, floating downriver on a raft rather than paddling one yourself. The final leg is Dunn's River Falls, a 600-foot tiered waterfall you climb step by step, moving up the cascade with the water flowing around you. All three sites charge entry fees. Those are built into the price.

An air-conditioned vehicle picks you up from your hotel and moves you between the three attractions over roughly five to six hours. An English-speaking guide travels with the group. You'll need to bring or rent watershoes at each site, along with a swimsuit and towel. The operator notes that watershoes are available for purchase or rental on-site. A complimentary bottle of water or soda arrives when you're picked up.

The itinerary assumes moderate fitness: climbing a waterfall and moving between sites on foot requires steady footing and some endurance. Infants and small children can come along in a stroller or pram. The activity is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health.

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.

Can I just watch at Blue Hole, or do I have to swim and climb?

Blue Hole is built around choice. You can swim, dive, swing from a rope, or stay on the bank and watch others. The guide will work with whatever you're comfortable doing.

What exactly is bamboo rafting on the White River?

Bamboo rafting means floating downriver on a bamboo raft. You're a passenger on the raft rather than paddling it yourself. The guide or operator poles or paddles while you ride and take in the river.

Do I need to be a strong swimmer for this activity?

What do I need to bring, and what's included?

Bring or rent a swimsuit, watershoes and a towel at the sites. Entry fees to all three attractions are included in the price, as are hotel pickup, the guide and a complimentary drink on arrival. Watershoes are available for purchase or rental at each location.
