The Experience

The first thing I noticed was the way the air changed as we drove into Fern Gully — cooler, almost damp, and thick with the green smell of leaves after rain. Our guide, Devon, slowed down so we could lean out the window (careful not to lose my hat) and spot all these wild ferns curling up the rocks. He pointed out a few plants used for teas and remedies — I tried repeating their names but honestly butchered most of them.
