Recipes go home with you so you can remake them.

The experience
How do you actually make pizza dough? What goes into tiramisu beyond the obvious? You find out by doing it, not watching. The class starts in a villa set in the Chianti hills with a welcome drink and local snacks, then moves straight to the kitchen where a chef walks you through the techniques. You'll knead the pizza dough yourself, learn why the method matters, and then pick your toppings from the fresh seasonal produce the kitchen has on hand. While the pizzas cook, you shift to tiramisu: the chef shows you how to layer eggs, sugar, mascarpone, bitter cocoa, coffee and Pavesini biscuits into something that tastes nothing like the sum of its parts.
Once both are ready, you eat them. The pizza comes with beer or wine. The tiramisu follows. The wine is from local vineyards in the region, chosen to pair with what you've just made. You get the recipes in writing before you leave, so the whole thing doesn't stay locked in Chianti. You can remake both at home.
The class holds only small groups, which means the chef can watch what you're doing and adjust. If you need the food vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or lactose-free, that's built in from the start, not an afterthought. The villa is wheelchair accessible, and the kitchen areas are set up so everyone can reach the work surfaces and equipment.

Is this one for you?You do the cooking yourself in a small group with a chef guiding each step, so you leave knowing how to make both dishes, not just having watched someone else make them. This suits anyone who wants to learn a skill and take it home, whether you're cooking for the first time or you've been cooking for years but never tried Italian pizza or tiramisu.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Italian.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (6 to 11 years); Infant (under 6): free.
What's the difference between making pizza dough and just buying it?
The dough is where pizza actually comes from. You'll knead it by hand so you feel how the gluten develops and why resting time matters. A chef who has made thousands of pizzas walks you through each step so you understand what you're doing, not just following instructions. Once you've made it yourself, you see why a shortcut dough tastes flat.
Do I need cooking experience to take this class?
No. The class is built for people who want to learn, not for people who already know. The chef starts at the beginning (how to knead, why tiramisu needs time to set, what each ingredient does), and goes at the pace of the group.
Can I eat what I cook, or is it just a demonstration?
You eat it. After you finish cooking, you sit down at the table and the kitchen serves your pizza and tiramisu with wine pairings from local vineyards. That's the whole point: you made it, now you taste it.
How long does the class actually take?
Three hours from start to finish, including the welcome drink, the cooking instruction, the cooking itself, and sitting down to eat what you've made.
What if I'm vegetarian or have a dietary restriction?
The kitchen handles vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free versions from the start, using fresh seasonal ingredients. Tell the operator what you need when you book and it's built into your class, not added on.
Will I actually be able to make these dishes at home after?
Yes. You get written recipes for both the pizza and the tiramisu before you leave, so you have the exact proportions and techniques the chef showed you. The ingredients are simple and available everywhere, so there's no reason to wait until you're back in Chianti.
