Tuscan Cooking Class with Live Opera & Wine Dinner
You cook the pasta, the opera singer arrives at dinner.

The experience
The kitchen sits in a restored barn on the property, built into what was once the villa's old stone trough. You start with a tour of the vineyard and vegetable garden (weather and season permitting) to gather fresh herbs and seasonal produce for the meal you're about to cook. The guide walks you through how the family makes their wine and extra-virgin olive oil, then you taste the oil before moving to the kitchen. Everyone prepares their own dishes using the recipes of Lulu's Grandmother, working through a menu that typically includes eggplant parmigiana or chicken hunter, a spread of traditional bruschette, fresh pasta made by hand, and homemade panna cotta or another dessert.
Once the cooking is done, you wash up, sit down to the table with the food you've made, and a live opera singer performs while you eat. Wine from the villa's vineyard flows throughout the meal. The whole experience (garden walk, cooking, dinner and performance) takes about three and a half hours. Transfers from Florence can be arranged if you contact the villa at least 48 hours ahead. There's an extra charge for this service.
