The experience
You'll spend a morning or afternoon learning to shape and top pizza the way a local pizzaiolo does, using fresh ingredients the chef provides. After that comes tiramisu, one of Italy's most recognizable desserts, and you'll build it layer by layer, tasting as you go. The chef guides every step, so there's no pressure to have cooked before. The point is to understand how these dishes come together and why they taste the way they do in Tuscany.
Once the cooking is finished, you sit down to eat. The pizza you made comes out of the oven, the tiramisu gets plated, and local wine arrives at the table. This is not a lecture followed by a meal somewhere else. It's the same kitchen, the same group of people who just cooked together, and the food is yours. The whole experience runs about three hours from start to finish.
The class welcomes children from age six and works for anyone, whether you cook at home regularly or rarely step into a kitchen. The atmosphere is social and relaxed. You're learning alongside other travelers, and the chef keeps things engaging without being formal. All the equipment and ingredients are provided, so you show up ready to cook.
