Roll pasta by hand, layer tiramisu, eat lunch or dinner you made
A private pasta and tiramisu-making class in a local cook's home in Modena where you learn two pasta recipes and tiramisu from scratch, then sit down to eat what you've prepared with local wines. The class runs three hours and is taught in English or Italian by your host Cesarina, who opens her kitchen to small groups and families with children of any age.
The Experience
You arrive at a Cesarina's home in Modena and spend the next three hours learning how to make two pasta dishes and tiramisu the way she does. This is hands-on: you roll the dough, shape the pasta, layer the dessert. Your host reveals the family tricks: the pressure points, the timing, the small moves that separate homemade from restaurant versions. She works alongside you, correcting your grip on the rolling pin, tasting as you go. The class is private, so the pace follows your questions and your hands.
Once everything is ready, you sit down to eat. The pasta you made comes to the table hot, dressed simply so you taste what your work produced. Tiramisu follows. Local wines and water, coffee at the end. If you book the dinner option, the meal is more substantial. The lunch version is lighter. Either way, you're eating in her home, at her table, with the person who just taught you.
The Cesarina network spans Italy, over 120 cities, and these are working home cooks, not restaurant chefs or professional instructors. They teach the way they cook: for family, with the ingredients they know, in the kitchen they use every day. Public transportation runs nearby if you need it to reach the address.

Operated by Cesarine: Cooking Class
Is this one for you?Book this if you want to learn by doing (rolling dough, shaping pasta, layering tiramisu) rather than watching a demonstration. The private setting means your host adjusts to your pace and answers your questions as they come up, and families with children find the three-hour length and hands-on format work well together.
