A wine tasting paired with lunch at Poggio ai Laghi, a Chianti winery where a sommelier guides you through eight wines, from Spumante to Supertuscan, alongside a three-course meal of Tuscan classics. The tasting includes oils and balsamic vinegars crafted on the same land. All areas are wheelchair accessible.

The experience

The tasting opens with two Spumantes, then moves through five still wines: Chianti Riserva, Chianti Classico, Supertuscan, a Toscana Rosso, and a white. Between each pour, the sommelier explains what you're tasting. The territory it comes from, the winemaking choices behind it, the soil and the vintage. You'll also sample three extra virgin olive oils (one infused with white truffle, one with chili) and two aged balsamic vinegars, each one made at the winery with the same precision as the wines.

Lunch arrives in three courses. Appetizers include Tuscan salami, finocchiona, cured ham, pecorino, and bruschetta with fresh tomato and basil, all served with toasted bread crisped in olive oil. The first course is lasagna with traditional meat ragù. The main is roast pork loin, arista, with oven-baked potatoes. Dessert is cantuccini biscuits with Vin Santo, the Tuscan dessert wine. Every dish is built to echo the wines you've tasted.

The whole experience runs about two hours. A live guide leads the tasting in English, Spanish, or Italian, so you choose the language that fits your group. The winery is wheelchair accessible throughout, and public transportation options are nearby if you're not driving.
