The experience
You climb into a golf cart and drive through the vineyards yourself, stopping at points your guide chooses to explain the winemaking process and the land. The route takes you past Poggio ai Laghi lake, a quiet corner of the property where you can step out and breathe the Tuscan air before heading to lunch. The whole outing runs two and a half hours, so it fits into a morning or an afternoon without swallowing the day.
The tasting spans six wines: two sparkling (Arella and Firmina), two Chianti (Lucilla Classico and Oletta Riserva), and two reds (Aranda Supertuscan and Donna Ava Toscana Rosso). Alongside them you sample three extra virgin olive oils (Classic, White Truffle, and Chili Pepper) plus two aged vinegars. Your wine expert sits with you during lunch and walks you through each pairing, so you're learning as you eat, not just tasting in isolation.
Lunch is traditional Tuscan: cured meats and pecorino with bruschetta and toasted bread in the appetizer course, then lasagna, sliced beef steak with roasted potatoes, and cantuccini with Vinsanto dessert wine. Water and soft drinks come with the meal. The experience ends by the lake, where the food, wine and countryside settle into memory.
