Roll, fill and fold tortellini the way Bologna's home cooks have for centuries

A private tortellini masterclass in a local home in Bologna where you learn to shape the pasta by hand, then sit down to taste it with local wine. The class runs three and a half hours and takes place in a carefully selected host's kitchen in Bologna or the surrounding area. You'll receive the address after booking. English and Italian instruction available.

The experience

You'll work alongside a Cesarina (one of Italy's network of 1000+ home cooks who open their kitchens to travelers) in her own Bologna home. She'll walk you through rolling out the dough and folding each tortellino, the shape that takes practice to get right. The lesson is hands-on from start to finish: you're not watching a demonstration, you're making the pasta yourself, learning the small adjustments that separate a clumsy parcel from the real thing.

After the class ends, you'll sit down to eat what you've made. The tortellini goes into the pot, and you taste it with local wine, the way it's meant to be eaten. A Tortellini Expert Certificate arrives after the experience. The class is private (no other guests, just you and the Cesarina), and local taxes are included in the price.
