The experience

The day starts with pickup and a drive to Batuan Temple, a Hindu temple in the countryside north of Ubud, where the roof is built from black palm fiber and the grounds hold a thousand years of artist history. From there you move to Tegenungan Waterfall, about thirty minutes by car from Denpasar, where the water runs clear enough to swim or wade. The stops build toward the landscape itself: Tegalalang Rice Terrace, where the paddies step down the hillside in the pattern of the subak, a traditional irrigation system passed down since the eighth century.

The middle of the day includes a swing activity at D'Alas, suspended over the forest and rice fields, then the Ubud Monkey Forest in Padangtegal village, where roughly 700 monkeys live among 186 species of trees across 12.5 hectares. The air there is thick and fresh. You finish in the heart of Ubud itself: the Art Market, a traditional marketplace opposite Ubud Palace where local artisans sell handmade bags, statues, silk scarves and wood carvings, and the palace itself, a royal governance center with carved wood details and a tropical garden framing the entrance gate.
