The experience

The day starts at the Ubud Art Market, where batik, silver, wood carving and painting fill the stalls, then moves into the sacred monkey forest deep in the jungle. Local handlers are there to help, and your guide explains the significance of what you're walking through: ancient stone carvings, jungle trails and terraces woven into the landscape. The forest is one of Bali's most compelling stops, and the walkways let you move at your own pace through it.

From the forest, you drive through winding roads lined with rice fields and jungle until you reach the Tegalalang rice terraces. This is where the jungle swing sits: a thrilling vantage point that swings you out over the rice fields and river valley below. After you've had your fill of the view, you'll stop for lunch at a restaurant in the area. Your guide can recommend options, and you pay when you eat. Then it's on to Cepung waterfall, where you can dip in the water and stand underneath it inside the cave-like rock formation that frames the falls.

The tour wraps up at a coffee plantation where you'll taste some of the exclusive coffee grown in the region. Your guide and driver handle all the logistics. The van is air-conditioned, parking is covered, and you're dropped back at your hotel at the end of the day.
