The experience

Your driver picks you up at your hotel in a private air-conditioned minivan and takes you first to Taman Ayun, a royal family temple from the Mengwi Kingdom where your guide explains Hindu influences and Balinese mythology woven into the site. From there you continue to Tirta Empul, a water temple built around a sacred spring where the Balinese believe the waters hold healing powers. The route then climbs inland for an hour to Mount Batur, where you have time for lunch while taking in views of the volcanic caldera.

The day also includes stops at Balinese art villages and a coffee plantation, giving you a sense of how people live and work outside the main tourist zones. Your guide handles the route and the timing, so you move through each site without arranging transport between them or figuring out where to go next. The minivan stays air-conditioned throughout, and the full day runs 10 hours from pickup to drop-off.

What exactly is Tirta Empul Temple and why do people visit it?

Tirta Empul is a traditional Balinese water temple built around a natural holy spring. The Balinese believe its sacred waters have healing powers, and the temple is one of Bali's most important spiritual sites.

How long do we spend at Mount Batur, and what's there to see?

You have time for lunch at Mount Batur while viewing the volcanic caldera. The volcano, also called Kintamani, sits about an hour's drive inland from the coast and offers views across the crater landscape.

Does the tour include food and drinks?

What's the difference between the two tour options?

You choose between a tour for 2 to 4 travelers or one for 5 to 10 travelers. Both follow the same route and include the same sites. The difference is group size and the vehicle capacity.

Hotel pickup and drop-off are included in the tour price. Your driver collects you in the morning and returns you at the end of the day, so you don't arrange any transport yourself.
