Bali Swing & Monkey Forest Full-Day Tour from Kuta
Swing over the treetops, then walk through two of Bali's quieter temples and forests
A full-day private tour from Kuta combines three separate activities: swinging on ropes strung between trees above rice paddies and river valleys near Ubud, exploring Taman Ayun Temple with its nine-jetted fountain and three courtyards, and walking through Sangeh Monkey Forest, where nutmeg trees cover the grounds and fewer crowds gather than at the more famous Ubud sanctuary. Hotel pickup, lunch and an English-speaking driver are included.

Step-by-step itinerary
Visit temple, monkey forest, and swing
- Explore Sangeh Monkey Forest
- Visit Taman Ayun Temple
- Enjoy Bali Swing activity
The experience
Your day starts with pickup from your Kuta hotel and a drive to Ubud, where the Bali Swing sits in Bongkasa Village. You choose your swing height (five, fifteen or twenty meters), and launch out over the canopy. The view from up there is the point: rice fields, river valleys and cliff edges spread below while you're suspended above the trees. This is the activity that has made Bali Swing a draw for visitors, and the operator built the day around it.
After swinging, you move to Taman Ayun Temple, constructed in 1634 and still used for festivals that cycle every 210 days. The temple sits on an island surrounded by canals, so you cross a bridge to enter through the candi bentar, the split gate that opens onto the first courtyard. A nine-jetted water fountain sits in the middle, and a second gate leads upward to the third courtyard, the most sacred space. The temple is less crowded than others on the island and holds the shrines of the old Mengwi royal family.
Sangeh Monkey Forest comes next. It sits near Denpasar on Brahmana Road and differs from the Ubud Sacred Monkey Forest because of the nutmeg trees that cover most of the ground: historians believe an ancient community planted them deliberately. The forest has monkeys, but fewer visitors than the more famous sanctuary, which makes it a quieter walk. Lunch is included before or after, depending on the day's rhythm, and your driver speaks English throughout.
