The experience
You start at the Gates of Heaven, the stone gateway at Lempuyang temple with Mount Agung rising behind it. Your guide positions you for shots and walks you through the temple's history and what it means to the Balinese people. From there you move to Tirta Gangga, the former royal water palace in eastern Bali, where the formal gardens and pools give you another set of angles before you head inland.
Cepung waterfall is the stop where the light does the work: sun rays cut straight down through the canyon opening, casting natural beams across the falling water. You get time to photograph the effect and swim in the pool below if you want. The guide brings you back toward your hotel with a final stop at Tegalalang rice terraces, where you walk out into the stepped fields and shoot across the vast green expanse. The rice field entrance is included. If you want to add the swing activity, you can choose that at checkout.
The whole day runs about ten hours from pickup to drop-off. Bring a camera or phone with a full battery and wear shoes that can handle wet ground at the waterfall. Your guide is there to frame shots and answer questions about each site, not to rush you through.
What’s included
- English-speaking driver and guide for the full day.
