Ubud ATV Riding: River, Jungle & Waterfall
You operate the ATV through water and mud while rivals watch from a vehicle
Ubud ATV riding is a 2-hour activity where you operate a quad bike through river crossings, jungle paths, muddy tracks and rice paddies to reach a waterfall, with an experienced guide, safety equipment, lunch and hotel transfers available as an option. The ride includes the Dragon Cave, the World Ball statue and the Donut Mud spot, a signature off-road challenge. Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty; the terrain demands careful control and physical fitness.
The Experience
You'll ride the ATV yourself through a mix of terrains that separate this from a guided tour in a vehicle. The river crossing comes early—you navigate the flowing water, manage the splashes and feel the adrenaline as you steer through it. The muddy tracks follow, including the Donut Mud spot, where maintaining control on soft ground requires the skill the guide will help you build. Between the technical sections, the route passes through rice paddies, the Dragon Cave and the World Ball statue, so the landscape shifts as you ride.
An experienced quad bike instructor leads the group in English and stays with you throughout the 2-hour ride. Safety equipment—helmets and boots—is provided, and insurance covers the activity. Lunch is included after the ride, and a towel and locker are available. If you book a tandem option, a second rider sits behind you; if you book single, you ride alone. Hotel pickup is optional depending on which option you choose at checkout; without it, you meet the group at the starting point.
The physical demand is real: you're operating the bike, not sitting in one, so the guide recommends high fitness and comfortable, simple clothing that lets you move freely. Spinal injuries, pregnancy and cardiovascular concerns make this unsuitable. The mud will soak your clothes, so bring a change or accept that your outfit will need washing afterward.
