The experience

The day starts early at the Tegalalang Rice Terrace, where you walk through cascading emerald-green rice paddies worked by local farmers using the subak, a traditional Balinese irrigation system passed down since the eighth century. The terraces stretch across what feels like an endless landscape of green, part of the Cultural Landscape of Bali Province UNESCO World Heritage Site. After the walk, you move to the floating breakfast: a meal served in a natural jungle pool surrounded by forest, where you sit in the water and eat while the morning settles around you.

From there, a coffee break at a Bali coffee plantation introduces you to the island's famous civet coffee, made from beans fermented through a specific process. Then comes the adrenaline part: the Jungle Swing, where you test yourself against the height and the rope before heading to the Sacred Monkey Forest. This nature reserve and temple complex houses approximately 340 long-tailed macaques divided into four groups, each with its own territory. The forest spans about 27 acres and holds at least 115 different tree species, along with the Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegal temple and a holy spring bathing temple.

The tour ends at Ubud Art Market, opposite the Puri Saren Royal Palace. Most goods here (silk scarves, lightweight shirts, handmade woven bags, baskets, statues and kites) come from neighboring villages like Pengosekan and Tegalalang. The market was featured in the film Eat Pray Love and draws over 10,000 visitors a month. Bargaining is standard practice. Private transport with an English-speaking driver, bottled water and WiFi on board are included throughout the 8 hours.
