The experience
You start on day one with two hours of videos and theory, then work through the Open Water manual with your instructor before heading to the pool in the afternoon to practice the core skills you'll need underwater. The instructor walks you through each technique in shallow water so you can build confidence before the ocean.
Day two takes you to two dive sites around Pemuteran at a maximum depth of 12 meters. You'll redemonstate the skills from the pool, then have time to explore the reef and fish life. After lunch back at the dive center, you finish the remaining theory with your instructor so you're ready for the final dives.
On day three, you head to Menjangan Marine Park for your last two dives. Once you surface from the final dive, you're certified. You'll receive a permanent SSI card and be registered online. The dive center provides all equipment, facilities including WiFi and showers, and arranges pickup and drop-off from the Amed or Tulamben area.
