The experience

Pemuteran sits on Bali's northwest coast, and Menjangan island, a 25-minute boat ride away, holds the reefs you'll explore. Mornings start at 08:00 at the dive center, where you'll gear up with a wetsuit, weight belt and full equipment (mask, snorkel, fins, buoyancy control jacket, regulator and instruments). The boat leaves between 08:30 and 09:00, and on a typical day you'll do two or three dives depending on what the conditions allow and what suits your level. The instructor chooses the sites each morning to match the sea state and your experience, so you're not locked into a fixed itinerary.

Between dives, you surface on Menjangan island itself. There's time to eat lunch, drink tea, rest and walk around. The island is part of a marine park, and the dives themselves take you through Eels Garden, the POS 2 tombant (a steep drop-off), Mandarin and cave points, plus several macro spots where smaller creatures live. Turtles are common in these waters, and the instructor knows the spots where you're most likely to see them. Because you're doing seven dives over three days instead of cramming them into one, you have time to absorb the marine life and the corals without rushing between sites.

After the final dive, the van picks you up at the harbor and brings you back to the dive center. The package includes pick-up and drop-off in Nusa Lembongan, dive center facilities (WiFi, toilet, shower, locker, change room), and the instructor's guidance throughout. Food and drink at the center's restaurant are not included in the price, but you can buy them there. If you want digital photos or videos from the dives, those are available to purchase separately. The seven dives must be completed within a week of starting.
