The experience

The tour runs eight hours and covers the landmarks most visitors come to see. You start at City Palace, which sits on Lake Pichola's banks and holds weapons, historic photographs, and sedan chairs from the royal collection. Part of it remains the royal family's home. From there you move to Jagdish Temple, built in Indo-Aryan style within the palace complex, then take a private boat ride on Lake Pichola itself, stopping at Jagmandir Island to see its Rajasthani palace architecture. The day also includes Saheliyon Ki Bari, a garden built for the royal court's ladies, with five fountain sections and enough space to spend a quiet half-hour walking through it.

Your driver handles all the transport in a private air-conditioned vehicle, and hotel pickup and drop-off are built in. You can hire a local guide at the major sites if you want one. The choice is yours at checkout. Meals, snacks, entrance fees, and boat rides are on your own tab, so you eat where and when you want. The itinerary also passes Fateh Sagar Lake, a clean and well-maintained spot for a break, and includes stops at Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal, a museum with Kathputli puppet performances and traditional dance, plus a crystal glassware showroom if those interest you.

You pick one of four vehicle options at checkout (a sedan for one to three passengers, a larger sedan for up to six, or an SUV) each with a driver included. All fuel, parking, and vehicle expenses are covered in the price.

What is inside City Palace that I'll actually see?

City Palace houses an impressive collection of weapons, guns, sedan chairs, tiger cages, and historic photographs. The palace overlooks Lake Pichola and a portion of it is still home to the royal family, so you see a working royal residence, not just a museum.

Do I get to go out on the lake, or just look at it?

You take a private boat ride on Lake Pichola with a stop at Jagmandir Island, where you can see the palace architecture up close from the water. The boat ride costs 700 INR per person and is not included in the tour price.

How long do I spend at Saheliyon Ki Bari?

Saheliyon Ki Bari is designed as a peaceful stop of approximately 30 minutes. The garden has five distinct fountain sections and is well-maintained, so it works as a quiet break in the middle of the day.

The itinerary covers the main landmarks, but since you have your own driver for the full eight hours, you control the pace and can spend more time at sites that interest you or move through others faster. Meal stops are entirely your choice.
