The experience

Eight to nine hours takes you through the main sights of Udaipur without the logistics of arranging transport or navigating between stops. The day starts with pickup from your hotel or airport, then moves through the city's landmarks in sequence: the City Palace on Lake Pichola's banks, the 17th-century Jagdish Temple with its carved spire, the royal gardens of Saheliyon Ki Bari with its marble pavilions and lotus pools, and Fateh Sagar Lake, where Nehru Park sits on an island accessible by boat. The route also takes in Maharana Pratap Smarak on Moti Magri Hill, a bronze statue and museum honoring the warrior king, and Gulab Bagh, a rose garden near the water's edge.

You pick your transport at checkout: a tuk-tuk for a more open-air, street-level experience of the city, or a car for comfort and air conditioning. Both come with a driver. If you want narration and context at each stop, the car-with-guide option adds an English-speaking guide who explains what you're standing in front of. The Vintage Car Museum near the palace shows Rolls-Royces and Cadillacs from the royal collection, and the day can include a cable car ride up to Karni Mata Temple for views across the city, or an evening folk dance performance at Lok Dharohar Folkdance Haveli if you want to extend into cultural evening. A boat ride on Lake Pichola itself is also possible depending on timing and your preference.

Fuel, parking and all transport charges are covered. Entry fees to the monuments and any meals are separate. The driver waits while you move through each site, so the pacing is yours: linger at the palace courtyards or the garden fountains, or move quickly through to fit more in. Infants sit on an adult's lap, and the tour suits all fitness levels, though some sites involve walking and climbing stairs inside temples and palaces.

The tuk-tuk is open-sided and gives you a closer view of street life and the city's rhythm as you move between stops. The car is enclosed, air-conditioned and more comfortable for a full day in the heat. Both have a driver. Only the car option includes an English-speaking guide who narrates at each attraction.

Does the tour include entry to the City Palace, temples and gardens, or do I pay separately?

Entry fees to all monuments (City Palace, Jagdish Temple, Saheliyon Ki Bari, Maharana Pratap Smarak, Gulab Bagh and the Vintage Car Museum) are not included in the tour price and are paid at each site as you visit.
