The Experience

Your tour starts with pickup around 2 pm or 2:30 pm from your hotel, airport, railway station or bus station in Jodhpur. A private car takes you to Osian, where you spend about an hour exploring Sachiya Mata Temple on your own—a place of worship built 1,000 years ago. The temple sits in the desert landscape, and there is no guide provided for this part, so you move at your own pace through the space.

After the temple, you head to the camel safari starting point. The ride itself is considered a peak experience in Rajasthan: you mount a camel and travel across the Thar Desert while the sun moves toward the horizon. The timing is deliberate—you stay out long enough to watch the skies and sands change colors during the sunset hour. This is when the desert shows itself differently than it does in the middle of the day. Once the light fades, you return to your private vehicle for the drive back to Jodhpur.

The tour runs 5 to 7 hours total, depending on traffic and how long you linger at the temple. Groups stay under 15 people per booking. At checkout, you can add a jeep safari through the desert or a folk dance performance with dinner back in Jodhpur—both optional.
