The experience
The tour leaves your hotel in late afternoon and heads first to Jal Mahal, the palace floating in the middle of a lake on the city's edge. From there you drive up to Nahargarh Fort, perched on the Aravalli hills: the vantage point where the sun sets over Jaipur's rooftops, palaces and distant hills. As darkness falls, the city below transforms into a grid of lights. The fort becomes a viewing platform for the illuminated Pink City rather than a ruin to walk through.
After the fort, the route brings you back down toward the center. You make a stop at Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds, to see its intricate sandstone façade lit up at night: a brief pause to photograph or stand in front of it. Then comes a walk through the old Pink City streets around Hawa Mahal: the bazaars, the pink-painted buildings, the shops still open and the rhythm of evening life in the neighborhood.
Dinner depends on what you choose at checkout. If you pick the non-vegetarian option, the driver takes you to Ramganj Bazaar, a Muslim neighborhood where you eat dishes like Shahi Tukda, Phirni and Malai Ghewar: the street food and sweets Jaipur is known for. If you choose vegetarian, you'll dine on a Rajasthani thali or other local vegetarian plates in a nearby spot. Either way, you eat where locals do, not in a tourist restaurant. The tour wraps up with a return to your hotel.

Top questions
What is Jal Mahal and why does the tour stop there first?
Jal Mahal is a palace built in the middle of a lake on Jaipur's outskirts. The tour visits it early in the evening to give you a view of the palace from the shore before moving on to Nahargarh Fort for the sunset.
Can I see the city lights from Nahargarh Fort after dark?
Yes. Once night falls, Nahargarh Fort becomes a viewpoint of the entire illuminated Pink City below: the palaces, streets and buildings all lit up and shimmering in the distance.
What happens if I don't want dinner included?
You can book the tour without dinner at checkout. You'll still visit Jal Mahal, watch the sunset from Nahargarh Fort, see the lit Hawa Mahal and walk through the Pink City. The dinner stop is simply skipped.
Is there much walking involved in this tour?
The tour involves moderate walking through city streets and around the fort areas. You'll stroll through the Pink City bazaars and climb short distances at Nahargarh Fort, but it's not a hiking tour. Most of the evening is spent in the car or at viewpoints.
What's the difference between the vegetarian and non-vegetarian dinner options?
Non-vegetarian dinner takes you to Ramganj Bazaar, a traditional Muslim neighborhood, where you eat Mughlai dishes and local sweets. Vegetarian dinner is served in a nearby spot with Rajasthani thali and other local vegetarian plates. Both are authentic neighborhood meals, not restaurant dining.
