The Experience
The day starts with pickup from your hotel, airport or railway station in a private air-conditioned vehicle. Your driver handles the route and parking while you move between sites without navigating the city yourself. If you've chosen the guide option, your English-speaking guide joins you to explain the history and architecture at each stop—otherwise it's just the driver and the freedom to move at your own pace.
Hawa Mahal, the 1799 Palace of the Winds, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with intricate carved stonework worth at least half an hour inside to appreciate the craftsmanship. Jantar Mantar, completed in 1734, holds the world's largest stone sundial and 19 astronomical instruments built by Rajput king Sawai Jai Singh—also UNESCO-designated. City Palace blends Mughal and Rajput styles in the walled city and remains partly the residence of the ruling royal family. Amer, 11 km outside Jaipur, is a fortified palace set in rugged hills, begun in 1592 under Raja Man Singh I and showcasing Hindu and Mughal architecture together.
The route also takes in Jal Mahal, the Lake Palace floating on Man Sagar Lake with red sandstone walls and only its top floor visible when the water is full, and Royal Gaitor at the foothills of Nahargarh Fort—a cremation site for Maharajas with Islamic and Hindu cenotaphs set against rolling hills. Albert Hall Museum rounds out the day with Rajasthani miniature paintings and regional art collections. The whole itinerary runs eight hours, and fuel, parking and taxes are covered in your fare.

Is this one for you?Choose the guide option if this is your first time in Jaipur and you want context for what you're seeing—the history of Amer's construction, why Jantar Mantar's sundial matters, how City Palace still houses the royal family. The driver-only option works if you've researched the sites already or prefer to explore at your own rhythm without narration.

What's the difference between booking the car with driver only versus adding a guide?
The car-and-driver option gives you private transport and parking handled; adding the guide means an English-speaking professional joins you to explain the history, architecture and significance of each site as you move through them. Either way, the vehicle and driver are yours alone for the day.
Does the tour price include entry to the monuments?
No, monument entry fees are separate. City Palace costs INR 700; Hawa Mahal and Jantar Mantar are INR 200 each; Albert Hall is INR 250 and Royal Gaitor is INR 50. You pay these at each site.
Can I get picked up from the airport?
Yes, airport pickup is included along with hotel and railway station options. Let the operator know your arrival point when you book.
What makes Jantar Mantar worth the stop?
Jantar Mantar holds the world's largest stone sundial and 19 astronomical instruments built in 1734 for astrological study. It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site and sits near City Palace and Hawa Mahal, so it fits naturally into the route.
Is Amer the same as Amber?
Amer is the old spelling of Amber, the former capital of the Kachwahas before they moved to present-day Jaipur. The palace sits 11 km outside the city in rugged hills and blends Hindu and Mughal architecture across a fortified complex begun in 1592.
How much time do I spend at each site?
The eight-hour day includes all travel and stops, but the itinerary doesn't lock you into fixed times at each monument. With your own vehicle and guide (if selected), you control the pace—spend longer at Hawa Mahal or Amer if you want, or move through faster.
