The experience
You arrive at a traditional joint family home in Jaipur and step straight into the kitchen. Your local host walks you through the recipes they've cooked for years: the spice blends for pakora, the yogurt base for kadhi pakora, the slow simmer of gatta curry or lal maas. You work with your hands: frying, kneading, tempering spices in hot oil. The menu shifts with what's in season, but you'll make dishes like jeera aloo, seasonal vegetable curry, and kheer for dessert, learning not just the steps but why each one matters.
Once the cooking is done, you sit down to eat everything you've made in the home's dining space. The meal is unhurried. This is the point of the whole class, the chance to taste the food warm and understand how the pieces fit together. As evening settles, you move to the rooftop for stargazing, a quieter moment to talk and take in the night sky. One bottle of mineral water per person is included, plus tea or coffee.
The rooftop can accommodate strollers and infant seats if you give notice ahead of time, and children from age one onward are welcome to come along. Public transport runs nearby if you need it to get there.
What’s included
