The experience
The class happens in an actual family kitchen in Jaipur, not a commercial studio. You arrive and start hands-on: your host walks you through preparing veg pakora, dal tadka, zeera aloo, vegetable biryani, tawa chapati, and either suji halwa or sewaiya for dessert. Each dish uses locally sourced ingredients and techniques the family has used for generations. You're not watching a demo. You're doing the cooking, learning the spice ratios and timing that make the difference between a dish that tastes flat and one that tastes right.
Midway through, if you're a female guest, you can change into traditional Rajputi dress, provided free. It's optional, but most people do it. It shifts the whole feeling of the afternoon. After the cooking wraps, you sit down with the family and eat everything you made, along with masala tea and coffee. The meal is included, as is bottled water and snacks throughout the class.
Pickup and drop-off from your hotel are included. The family speaks English and Hindi, so language isn't a barrier. If you have dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, or allergies), let them know when you book and they'll adjust the menu. The class runs three hours and the space is wheelchair accessible.
