Coral reefs and sea turtles in water you can see straight through

Snorkel Roatan's coral reefs on a small-group activity with a licensed guide, snorkel gear and hotel pickup included. You spend two hours in the water exploring vibrant coral formations and swimming alongside colorful fish, with your guide pointing out interesting sights and keeping the group under control so everyone gets a personalized experience. Children from age 5 are welcome; the guide speaks English or Spanish.

The Experience

A 15–20 minute drive takes you from your hotel to a private dock on Roatan's coast. Your licensed guide meets you there and walks through the snorkel gear—mask, snorkel, fins—making sure everything fits and answering questions before you enter the water. The group stays small, which means you're not jostling for position or competing for the guide's attention while you're down there.

Once in the water, you navigate the coral formations yourself, moving at your own pace while your guide stays with the group to point out what's worth seeing and watch for safety. The reefs here hold colorful fish, fascinating corals, and occasionally sea turtles. The water clarity is what lets you see it all without struggling—you're not guessing at shapes in the murk. Two hours gives you time to explore without the rush, and the guide's presence means you're not navigating an unfamiliar reef alone.

The activity includes bottled water and an air-conditioned vehicle for the ride back, so you're not sitting wet and uncomfortable afterward. Gratuities for the guide are separate.

What’s included

  • Licensed guide in English or Spanish.
  • snorkel equipment (mask, snorkel, fins).
  • bottled water.
  • air-conditioned vehicle pickup from your hotel and return.

Is this one for you?The small-group format means you're not one of twenty snorkelers competing for space on the reef—your guide can actually watch the group and point out what's worth seeing instead of herding bodies. Book this if you want a personalized snorkel rather than a cattle-call operation, or if you're new to snorkeling and want real instruction before you get in the water.

The full activity is two hours from pickup to return, which includes the 15–20 minute drive to the dock and the gear fitting. Most of that time is spent in the water exploring the reefs.

Will the guide stay with us the whole time we're snorkeling?

Yes, your licensed guide stays with the group throughout the snorkel to point out marine life, answer questions and ensure everyone's safety in the water.

Can my young child come snorkeling with us?

Children are welcome from age 5 and up. Your guide can help fit gear for smaller snorkelers and keep the group together in the water.

What marine life might we see at the Roatan reefs?
