The experience

The day starts with pickup from your hotel or cruise port, then heads to the buggy center where you board a two-seater 200cc buggy with a partner. For 90 minutes you ride the rural roads cutting through Roatan's interior, passing the kind of landscape most visitors never see from a tour bus. The route includes stops at the iguana park and the sloth-and-monkey park, where a local guide points out the species you're actually looking at instead of just riding past them.

After the buggy portion, you move to the snorkeling site on the Mesoamerican reef for roughly an hour in the water. The guide stays with the group here as well. You get a bottle of water and a souvenir video of the day. The whole experience runs about three hours from pickup to drop-off.

The tour mixes ages and fitness levels on the same departure, so you're riding and snorkeling alongside other families and groups. Service animals are welcome, and infants can come along in a stroller during the buggy portion if needed.
