Step-by-step itinerary
Roatan island activities and beach break
- Sightseeing en route to activities
- Visit animal sanctuary with sloths and monkeys
- Horseback ride through jungle and water
- Snorkel adventure at selected location
- Relax on beach with chair, shower, and restaurant
The experience
The day moves through four distinct stops, each one a different kind of activity. You start at the sanctuary to see sloths, monkeys and birds in their habitat, then head to Big Bight or another jungle location depending on the port you arrived at and how busy the day is. There you ride horses through both jungle terrain and shallow water: no experience needed, and the guide is with you the whole time. The snorkeling happens at Daniel's, Alonzo or West Bay depending on weather. Your driver knows the routes and handles the navigation while you sit back.
After the water activities, you get beach time to recover. You can claim a chair on the sand, use the shower and WiFi, or grab food and drinks at the restaurant and bar. The whole excursion runs four to six hours, and the air-conditioned vehicle picks you up and drops you back, so you're not arranging separate transport. Your guide speaks English or Spanish and stays with you from start to finish, which matters if you're new to any of these activities.
