The experience

The eco park zipline comes first. You'll fly through the treetops on cables rigged through the jungle canopy, with guides managing safety throughout. After the zipline, you walk through the animal sanctuary on the same grounds to see monkeys, sloths, toucans and macaws before moving to the second stop.

The horseback ride happens in Sandy Bay, a small community along the coast. You ride for an hour directly on the beach, with the option to take the horses into the shallow water for photos and video. The Caribbean Sea stretches across the horizon the whole time. Once both activities are done, your guide drives you through West End village, where you can browse shops, restaurants and dive outfitters, or stop at the Roatan chocolate factory to learn how cacao becomes chocolate and sample the varieties made on the island. A rum distillery with views from both sides of the island is also on the route if you want to stop.

Private transportation picks you up from your hotel or cruise port in an air-conditioned van. The guide speaks English or Spanish. All zipline gear, entry fees and taxes are included in the price.

Is this one for you?You operate both the zipline and the horse yourself with guide supervision, so this suits anyone who wants to be active rather than watch from the sidelines. The two activities back-to-back mean you get variety in a single outing (adrenaline from ziplining, then the calm of a beach ride), which works well for couples or families where not everyone wants the same intensity.
