The experience
The ride starts on mountain trails and moves into the water at Flower's Bay, where you'll take photos by the Roatan sign with your ship in the background. The pace is steady enough for riders with moderate fitness, and the guide handles the route and timing. You'll stop to pose for pictures and then head into West End Village.
At the chocolate factory, you'll taste 12 different kinds of chocolate, then browse the waves of art gallery, the rusty fish shop and other local stores at your own pace. This part of the day is walking and looking, not riding, so it breaks up the saddle time and gives you a chance to pick up souvenirs or just wander.
The afternoon lands you at West Bay Beach, where you'll use a day pass to Paradise Beach Resort, or Bananarama or Fosters if Paradise is closed for remodeling. The pass covers beach chairs, wifi, showers, bathrooms and all resort facilities. If you want to add snorkeling, kayaking, parasailing or other water activities, the resort offers them on-site. Private transportation in an air-conditioned vehicle moves you between each stop, and your guide speaks English or Spanish.

Is this one for you?The ride includes water entry at Flower's Bay, so you'll need to be comfortable on horseback in shallow water and have moderate fitness for five hours of activity. The day mixes riding, walking through shops and chocolate tasting, then beach time, so it suits someone who wants variety rather than a full day in the saddle.
